THE FINANCIAL TIMES

We all know that implementing the technology is just one step in the process of ensuring profitable change. Only Teliris has the people and the tools to help you manage the entire business process, as we've already helped so many other global clients. Ensuring your real business benefit.

Virtual Meetings

When executives walk into a conference room, they expect to sit down and have a meeting. Unfortunately, most vendors of video based meeting solutions seem to believe that executives want to walk into a room and spend the first 15 minutes fooling around with remote controls, camera focus, sound levels and connections. At Teliris, we believe that meetings should be about meetings and that virtual meetings should minimize at all times the impact of the technology on the participants so that they can interact as they would in an in-person meeting.

VirtuaLive™ systems include a managed service that ensures that all of the technical parts of the virtual meeting are preset and tested before anyone walks into the room. When a meeting participant walks into a VirtuaLive™ meeting, the displays are already on, preset to the right cities based on the automated scheduling system and zoomed to the right level to include the right number of people on each display. As a result a meeting can be about the meeting rather than about the technology.

We are guided by the following: Participants do not walk into an in-person meeting and
  • focus cameras, set lighting levels, turn on video displays so we do not ask them to do this;
  • look at themselves in the mirror and so we do not provide self-view since this creates a distraction that does not exist in real in-person meetings;
  • walk into the room and immediately call someone to call the technology or AV department to setup, fix, "debug" the other meeting participants and so we deliver the other participants into the room as if they were physically there.
This is how we create a BEING THERE experience! We do not ask people to do things in a virtual meeting room that they would not do in an in-person meeting. We know that we get this right when someone in London ends a meeting with people in Paris and New York and they stand up at the end of the meeting, reach forward to shake hands and realize that their meeting experience has been so lifelike that their automatic reflex at the end of the virtual meeting was to end it the same way they would have if everyone was in the same room.
